- Matt Hughes will now face Georges St. Pierre on December 29th for the interim Welterweight title according to UFC.com . While its nice to see GSP step up to take on Hughes on such short notice I dont really see why this fight should be done now. We all knew St. Pierre was going to get to fight the winner of Serra vs Hughes so why ruin another potential title match? They could have matched up a Sanchez vs Hughes or even a Koscheck vs Hughes fight that would have benefited all parties.
Update: Dave Meltzer announced that GSP asked for this fight with Hughes.
- Mike Swick will take on Josh Burkman and UFN 12 in January according to MMAMania. It will be interesting to see how Swick does after the weight cut down to 170.
- Chuck Liddell wants to train with Paulo Filho. Which to me makes no sense, as I dont see a fight between Chuck and Wanderlei going anywhere near the mat unless someone is knocked out and laying on it.
- Fightlinker questions the matchmaking of the UFC
- 5oz of Pain interviews with Kenny Florian and Cub Swanson . If any of you havent seen Swanson fight you are in for a treat. I saw him fight two years ago here in San Diego and even then you could see he was something special. |
